Janey and Patrick...

were recently married in Lake Tahoe. They were scheduled to get married on a cliff overlooking the lake but... the weatherman said that there was an 80% chance of rain!

As you can tell by the pictures, though... the weatherman was wrong! This was a view from Patrick's room (taken by my second shooter (and husband), Matt)... it was beautiful.

Here is a slideshow of the wedding... it moves a bit quickly but I think you'll feel like you were there...

And for some pictures of the day...

Janey getting ready... she was stunning.

Janey's mom helping her with her jewelry. She looked so excited to see her little girl become a bride.

A beautiful sepia toned silhouette.

Gorgeous flowers.

Ready to go!

Patrick on his way to the ceremony.

Anita, Janey's maid of honor, in mid air on her way to the limo...

Can a bride get any prettier? Janey getting into the limo...

Janey's step-mom and mom... each holding the hands of their little girl. I got teary on this one... but still got the shot. I loved the detail of her dress combined with the delicateness of their hands and the quiet emotion of it all.

Walking down the "aisle" towards Patrick. It was a gorgeous location.

Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Stanich, peeking out from under the veil and escorting Janey down from the rock.

Husband and wife...

Her father's toast made us all cry (yes, even me. :)) The greenery in the background and beautiful light added to the moment.

Patrick kissing Janey's hand in the limo... a perfect ending to a perfect day.

Congratulations you two! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

Saint Joseph Ballet- Imagination Celebration

I had the pleasure to photograph Saint Joseph Ballet's Imagination Celebration reception and performance. Founded in 1983, Saint Joseph Ballet is a nonprofit organization that provides dance, academic and family programs to low-income youth in Orange County, California. Saint Joseph Ballet students graduate from high school and attend college at a significantly higher rate than their peers. Youth who participate with Saint Joseph Ballet gain the tools they need to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

I feel so blessed to be able to work with such an amazing organization that is truly giving back to the community. By the way... the kids are incredible! They are so full of energy and light, and they are sooo fun to watch!

On this night, the alumni, current Saint Joseph dancers, and Backhausdance performed. Let me just say that they were all wonderful. Backhausdance absolutely blew me away, though. As a former dancer for over 20 years, I not only appreciated their performance but was in awe of them. I recommend checking them out.

A few kids enjoying the reception and getting ready to watch the show.

Jennifer Backhaus chatting before the show.

A full house.
Checking out the upcoming concert, "By Leaps and Bounds," to be performed at the Irvine Barclay Theater.
